Better Everyday!

So Corbin is your typical big brother for the most part. But he has been going through this phase where he thinks he is just too cool to be overly nice to sister. He is always amazing with Bailee but he is not very patient with Avery. He is getting over this phase and to my delight I caught him red handed playing with his sisters. These are the moments that I live for as a Mom!!

Thanksgiving Point

The DINOSAUR Museum! We haven't been in a while because Bailee was too young and it seem like the older kids were getting too old. Well the last time the kids were out of school we decided to give it a try...and what a success. Bailee was in heaven, so much to see and do...and touch! And Corbin and Avery couldn't have been cuter, it was all so new to them because it was new to Bailee. Everyone was happy, No tantrums, no whining, no crying, no fighting. And we ended the afternoon with trip to JCW's for lunch, Perfect!

How Scary is this?

A mothers worst nightmare...So I'm cleaning my kitchen and I hear this kidda muffled cry, coming from like behind a closed door. The kids are at school and Bailee is in the dining room playing with games, or so I thought. She is at the annoying age where she actually wants to do stuff, feed herself, push her own stroller, run away, play on the swing set, brush her teeth, "comb" her hair, get her own snacks and yes, open doors. Hind sight is always 20/20, as we all well know, and if I could go back 2 years to when the builder asked if we wanted door "levers" or "knobs" I definitely would have chosen the latter. Now let me just say that we always keep the bathroom doors closed and I always keep the toilet seat down, not that it really matters anymore....

Thank Heavens she went in feet first. I know what your thinking and yes I was terrified but I couldn't pass up this opportunity to document such a thing. And if anyone out there knows how to "baby-proof" a door lever please feel free to comment...

Valentines Day Fun

I always try to do a little bit more on V-day than I would usually do because its all alone in boring February. Note the word "try" because I never really do what I set out to, and you can almost always count on one or more of us being sick in the fam. This year was somewhere between here and there.

Troy took Avery on a date to skate. Avery loves to go roller-blading and shes always up for Classic Skating Dollar Night.

Then on Friday I spent the day in Avery's Class helping out with the V-day festivities. After School I made Valentine pizza and the kids decorated them.

After dinner I took Corbin to see Bolt for our "date", and he was super patient with me as I made a "quick" trip to the mall.

Saturday I made valentine waffles and then we just hung out all day. Troy let me veg for a while and I watched a movie and snacked on the chocolates and Henry Weinhart' black cherry cream soda (that's true love!) that he got for me.

After I picked the wrappers out of my hair and cleaned my self up a bit Troy took me the Thanksgiving point for some V-day dinner and dancing. What a blast! We went Troy's his parents which are always up for some serious two-steppin and I can't remember when I had that much fun. Live band and amazing singers, we'll definitely try to do it again next year!

K enough of the snow already. I am ready for some heat, bring it!! Don't get me wrong, I love winter but by the end of Feb. it gets a little old and I long for spring. Bailee is going crazy. She is constantly trying to escape the house and go out back to play on the swings.

Oh yeah and did I mention that we are a foster family now! Ok so its just a dog but still... Shawdow is my sister-in-laws family dog. They moved and couldn't take him with them so we offered to keep him until further notice. He is sch a good boy, I didn't want to like having him around but I can't help myself. If there were ever the perfect situation to have a pet this would be it. Totally trained, doesn't shed, smells ok as far as dogs go, and sweet to my babies, even Bailee who constantly bugs him. Its a two way street though because any chance Bailee gets she feeds him what ever she may be snacking on at the time...pretzels, string cheese, cheetos, carrots, peas, fruit snack, that dog will eat anything!

2009 is finally here and 2008 is finally behind us!!! Wow, that was a rough year, but what a blessing to come out on the other end better people, at the very least we learned more this year than we ever “hoped” to (whether it was learned the hard way or not, what a blessing). I am so grateful to have such an amazingly sweet, loving, attentive, caring, attractive and (almost, most of the time) sensitive husband. Blah, blah, blah…I know, I know, but everyone who knows me knows how in love I am with you Troy and now I love you more than ever Babe! And 3 of the best kids ever created, I am so lucky to have a front row seat in your lives…what a show-drama, comedy, plenty of action, a little horror and the best kind of love story! And thank you to all of our family and friends that planted reminders in our heads to keep our chins up and face every challenge head on. Thank you for your kindness and understanding, but thank you especially for your patience and love, we love you all so much more than we can express.

So I’m having a bit of a hard time keeping up with my blog (obviously), so in true New Year’s resolution style I am going to strive to do better! A few other resolutions include:

Going to the temple at least once a month
Daily scripture study
Better eating habits
Toning this body!
Doing more of the things that remind me of….me.
Getting on top of this whole preparedness thing, seriously.
Journaling, bloging, scrap booking, etc…
Taking it easy on the carbonated drinks
Watching a little less of that darn “boob-tube”

Just to name a few!! Here’s to actually completing on or two this year!

April had just had surgery on her foot so she decide to follow our trick-or-treaters in style. She just needed her big poofy dress and sash for "Mrs. Orem"!
